Huawei Demonstrates at Strata + Hadoop World 2015: Toward Big Data Driven Network
[Singapore, Dec 8, 2015] Recently Strata + Hadoop World 2015 was held in Singapore. Attending as gold sponsor, Huawei elaborated how big data is transforming networks and proposed up-to-the-minute big data solutions. Huawei showcased a number of success stories demonstrating its professional and leading role in big data technology.
Presented by Cloudera and O'Reilly, Strata + Hadoop World is recognized as the most influential big data summit. It is the first time it has been held in Asia and gathered leading decision makers, strategists, architects, developers and analysts from leading players. The theme this year was Make Data Work.
Sanqi Li, chief technology officer (CTO) at Huawei Products & Solutions, spoke on the subject of "Toward Big Data Driven Network." He envisioned a transformation of the computing paradigm for big data in the future. That is a centralized data center analysis mode will be replaced by geo-distributed analytics. Li gave a successful case to show how Huawei's big data platform had created tens of millions of dollars for operators by greatly enhancing their performance in subs promotion, subs retention, and data assets sharing. The platform analyzed more than 30 use cases collected from four business domains, with a data processing speed of more than 30 billion records per day and more than 14 TB of data.

Having achieved commercial success in big data, Huawei can no longer keep a low profile in the industry. Reynold Xin, co-founder of Databricks, highlighted "Top Retail Bank & Huawei" as he introduced Spark.
